H2Oh! Lakeway MUD’s drinking water recognized as best-tasting in Texas

LAKEWAY, Texas—Drinking water from the Lakeway Municipal Utility District was acclaimed as the Best-Tasting Drinking Water in Texas at the state’s premier water event.

Texas Water 2009, held in Galveston, was a joint conference hosted by two of the state’s largest water associations—the Water Environment Association of Texas and the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association.

Lakeway MUD competed with utilities across Texas in the annual Best-Tasting Drinking Water competition. A panel of judges evaluates the flavor and quality of the same water that’s delivered daily to a utility’s customers.

“Winning this coveted title is a tremendous source of pride for a utility. It underscores Lakeway MUD’s commitment to delivering a quality product to its customers,” said Mike Howe, executive director of the Texas Section of the American Water Works Association.

By winning the state competition, Lakeway MUD qualifies to compete internationally at the American Water Works Association Annual Conference and Exhibition this June in San Diego.
