LMUD Board Elects New Director

In the regular LMUD Board meeting on November 14, John Sayer was elected to serve the remainder of term for the Director’s position vacated by Tom Brewer last month.  He was nominated by Board Vice President Jerry Hietpas then given a chance to speak at the podium before the board voted him in. He was sworn in by LMUD Finance/Administration Manager, Loyd Smith and immediately took a seat with the other board members for the remainder of the meeting.

Sayer has served on the LMUD Engineering and Operations Committee. He is a PHD Chemical Engineer with over 30 years experience, much of which was spent in management with responsibility for budgets of up to $184M per year. He is a Lakeway resident and meets all of the qualifications to serve as Director of LMUD.

Brewer had submitted his resignation citing medical reasons and the Board accepted his resignation in October.  The Board thanks Brewer for his seven years of service to LMUD, and acknowledged his many contributions to the District.

Sayer’s term will expire in May 2020.  The LMUD Board and staff welcome Sayer to the Board and thank him for his willingness to serve.
