This was truly a community effort that required the participation from our customers for our team and contractors to finalize the repair in a manner that caused minimal impact to our water services. We thank our customers who paid attention to and complied with our instruction to limit their outdoor water use over the past several days. We also thank our crew members and contractors for their hard work and dedication toward the completion of this challenging repair.

Update 10:00am on Tuesday, March 24, 2026: Due to the final water main repair in progress, we are requiring all customers to discontinue outdoor water use this week, starting tomorrow, Wed., March 25th until Fri., March 27. Please turn off your irrigation controller and limit all outdoor water use tomorrow, Wed., March 25 โ this Fri., March 27. Indoor water use is not impacted. Compliance is mandatory in order to significantly reduce system-wide water use during this emergency repair. Customers will be allowed to make up any extra irrigation or outdoor water use needs the following week without penalty.
Our crew and contractors will be working on the final repair of the emergency water main line leak along Lakeway Blvd on Thurs., March 26. To accommodate an unforeseen circumstance, until this repair is complete, we request that all water use be limited to indoor uses only (no irrigation and other outdoor water uses are allowed Wed., March 25 โ Fri, March 27).
We will send you an additional notice later this week to confirm that customer compliance was achieved and the repair is complete.

This notice impacts the use of potable/tap water only. Customers using recycled water for irrigation are exempt from this notice.

Update 2:30pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2026: LMUD customers may resume normal water use and implement normal watering restrictions (automatic irrigation is limited to a max. of 2-days per week on assigned days).
The water main line leak repair on Lakeway Blvd. is not yet complete, however we anticipate no additional customer impact.
Update 11:00am on Thursday, March 12, 2026: A temporary repair has been in place since Tuesday, March 3; a final repair is expected to be completed next Wednesday, March 18th.
We currently have a restriction in place of no automatic irrigation. This will continue until the break is repaired and our system is fully restored.
During the repair, no customers are expected to lose water service and no Boil Water Notices are anticipated to be issued.
Automatic irrigation may resume at the maximum two-days per week on assigned days starting Thursday, March 19th. Update 5:00pm on March 3, 2026: Our crew has a temporary repair in place for the water main break on Lakeway Blvd. You may resume normal water use, however no irrigation is currently allowed. No Boil Water Notices are currently in effect.
We would like to thank you for your attention to these notices and patience throughout this process. We would also like to show appreciation for our staff who worked long hours to get the leak repaired as efficiently and safely as possible. Final repairs will be made soon.
Update 12:00pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2026: Preparation for the final repair of the water main line break along Lakeway Blvd. is currently underway. If you temporarily lost service yesterday due to low water pressure, we anticipate you will lose water service again. Once the repair is complete and water service is restored, a minimal number of homes and businesses will be under a precautionary Boil Water Notice; notifications will be sent to the impacted customers only. If you do not receive a Boil Water Notice, your property is not impacted and can use water as normal – for essential uses only.
All Lakeway MUD customers: Please continue to limit water use to essential use only. No outdoor irrigation is allowed at this time. We will send out an additional update when water service is fully restored. We appreciate your compliance.
Rumors have circulated that the installation of Google Fiber is to blame for this break. To clarify, Google Fiber did not create this leak. The leak was already present underground and the trenching work made it visible. Our crews have identified the issue and are actively making repairs to resolve it as quickly and safely as possible.
Update 8:00am on Tuesday, March 3, 2026: Essential water use remains in effect. The repair is anticipated to be finalized later today. We will continue to send out updates as the repair is completed. No Boil Water Notice is currently in effect.

This is a notice from your water utility: Lakeway MUD. Due to a water main break, we are requiring all customers to conserve water immediately until further notice. No outdoor irrigation is allowed at this time. This request is service area wide.
Our crew is currently working on a water main line repair along Lakeway Blvd. Until this repair is complete, we request that all Lakeway MUD customer water use be limited to essential uses only (no outdoor water use is allowed at this time). We anticipate your water may be turned off to finalize the repair; if this happens you will be notified and a Boil Water Notice will be issued.
