Invitation for Bids: Sunfish Lift Station

The LAKEWAY MUD (OWNER) will receive sealed BIDS for the OUT OF DISTRICT WASTEWATER PROJECT SUNFISH LIFT STATION until 2:00 PM local time on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 at 1097. Lohmans Crossing, Lakeway, Texas 78734. The BIDS shall be sealed and addressed to:

The BIDS will be publicly opened and read aloud at the above address at 2:00 PM local time. BIDS received after the closing time will be returned. The Work consists of the following:

The project involves construction of a 125 gallons per minute (gpm) wastewater lift station. LAKEWAY MUD (LMUD) is purchasing the pumps and related equipment to be installed in the lift station. The Contractor will be responsible for all work associated with construction of the lift station, including installation of the submersible pumps and related equipment purchased by LMUD, site work, coordination of electrical work with LMUD’s electrical contractor, and all other work required to provide a complete and functioning lift station. Electrical-related work will be performed by others and is not to be included in the bid price. The inlet and outlet lines from the lift station to be installed by the Contractor will be connected by LMUD to existing lines previously installed by LMUD prior to startup of lift station service upon completion of this project.

Bidding Documents may be examined and requested in electronic format at LMUD’s office, 1097 Lohmans Crossing, Lakeway, Texas 78734, phone number 512-261-6222. Bidding Documents may be obtained by prospective BIDDERS from the LMUD office upon the non-refundable payment of the sum of $25.00 for each set of hard copy documents.

Bid Security in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the BID, issued by an acceptable surety company, must accompany each BID as a guarantee that the Successful Bidder will enter into contract and execute Bonds and Guaranties on the forms provided within ten (10) days after the date Contract Documents are received by the CONTRACTOR. Bid Security shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

LMUD reserves the right to reject any or all BIDS or to waive any informality in the bidding process. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the prices in any BID, the OWNER reserves the right to determine which BIDS are the lowest and/or best, and to award the contract on this basis. No BID may be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after opening of BIDS. If a submitted BID is withdrawn within the said period, BID guarantee shall become property of the OWNER, not as penalty, but as liquidated damages, and OWNER may pursue other action allowed by law. The successful BIDDER must furnish a “PERFORMANCE BOND” and “PAYMENT BOND” on forms provided with the Contract Documents. Each bond shall be issued in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount from a solvent Surety company, authorized to do business in the State of Texas and acceptable to the OWNER.

Contract Time is of the essence and all Work shall be substantially completed within 90 Calendar Days after the Notice to Proceed, and complete and ready for final payment within 120 days, in accordance with the Agreement. Liquidated damages are five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day in accordance with the Agreement.

BIDS may be held by LMUD for a period not to exceed fmiy-five (45) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the BIDS and investigating the BIDDERS’ qualifications prior to the contract award.

General Contractors are invited to attend a pre-bid conference for this project. The pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 at 2:00 PM local time at the LMUD Office at 1097 Lohmans Crossing, Lakeway, TX 78734. The purpose of the Pre-Bid Conference is to familiarize Bidders with the requirements of the Project and the intent of the Contract Documents, and to receive comments and information from interested Bidders. After the meeting is adjourned, interested parties will be permitted to visit the Project site.
