LMUD Installs Bill Pay Drop Box At Customer’s Suggestion
Lakeway Municipal Utility District (LMUD) recently installed a bright red Bill Pay Drop Box at the front of their main office building located at 1097 Lohmans Crossing. This was at the suggestion of customer Jim West, a 26-year resident of Lakeway and a retired car salesman. West stated that regardless of the wheelchair access ramp to the office’s entrance, it still proved difficult and time consuming to pay his bills. West prefers paying all of his local utility bills in person and appreciated the convenience that another utility in the area provided of a drop box near their front entrance. He gave LMUD a call to see if they were able to offer a similar option. Loyd Smith, LMUD’s Finance/Administration Manager jumped right on it, recognizing that it would be a need for many of their customers. The box took several months to implement, trying to find the perfect spot for it, ensuring its security and convenience. Within a few days of installation, the box had already been used over 40 times. West said, “I just appreciate that [LMUD] took me up on my suggestion. It’s so convenient and Loyd was so nice to call me regularly throughout the whole process to keep me updated on when and where it would be installed.” LMUD continues to offer paperless billing and pay-online options, but this is an alternative option for those who need it.
