LMUD Prepared for PEC’s Planned Power Outage on June 11

Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), our area’s electric utility provider, gave advanced notice that their crew will be performing system improvements “to better serve the growing energy needs of our community.” This work will require an interruption of the electric service from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11 to their “Bee Creek area” customers, consisting of commercial and residential customers in parts of Highland Boulevard and Rough Hollow Drive, back into the area closest to the waterfront reaching between Waterfront Avenue to Lakeway Resort and Spa. In the event of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled for June 12.

Since this work affects several of our lift stations, pumps, and treatment plants, we needed to make the necessary preparations for this work to ensure our water and wastewater systems are set up to continue functioning while the electric service is down. We have backup generators in place which have been tested so we are adequately prepared and expect that our customers will see no lag in their water or sewer services during this power outage from PEC.

If you have any questions regarding this power outage, please call PEC at their Oak Hill Planning Department at (800) 868-4791 ext. 7925.

If you have any questions regarding your water or wastewater service, as always, please contact us.
