Got septic in Old Lakeway?

According to Earl Foster, general manager of the Lakeway Municipal Utility District, residents in the older sections of Lakeway should expect a knock on their door in about a year from district staffers asking if they want to hook up to the area’s new public sewer system.

Foster and Stephanie Threinen, the MUD’s public information liaison, held two identical public meetings at the Lakeway Activity Center on May 9 covering the Out of District Wastewater Project that will allow septic customers to choose to join the district, adding public sewer to their homes.

The project will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase including 330 homes around the Live Oak Golf Course, Foster said. MUD employees have already been working to lay the mainlines in the area and will be ready to ask prospective customers next May if they want to be a part of the program, he said.
